The dinner was really fine--more than living up to my expectations from working in the kitchen. I brought some homebrewed stout and sparkling mead. The latter was well received, but we were not seated among a beer-drinking crowd, so most of the stout came home with us.
One more note from this morning's service: Somebody in the pew behind me asked about Tom, whom she had seen with us when we brought him to St. Mary's last week. She had not found him disruptive, and was very impressed by how we took care of him. At the time I had been very worried about the noise he was making, but with my physics education I need to remember that the inverse square law is my friend :-)> In fact, I got to talk about Tom and our life with him at least three times during the day.
All in all, the best day I have had in church for at least 15 years.
