gmcdavidJust two students this evening. The other one was the best student in our class (and a fellow Stanford grad).
It took a while to figure out how this game (another of Wes's creations) worked, but it was actually quite simple once we understood it. Quite a bit of vocabulary. Being married to a fiber artist helped.
( Read more... )gmcdavidgmcdavidIn the last hour of class we all made up holiday cards, for our choice of a seasonal holiday, using (if possible) the subjunctive. A couple of my classmates made Christmas cards, and at least one made a Solstice card. I made a card for Newtonmas (Carols here). My artistic skills are limited, but if stick figures are good enough for xkcd, they are good enough for me :-)>

- For a direct relative clause the independent form is used.
- For an indirect relative clause the dependent form is used.

colgaffneyis show in Aberdeen, South Dakota. That was cancelled, to my profound relief. However, I took the vacation days anyway. It was great.colgaffneyis friends at Merlin's Rest, the group's monthly "Night at the Pub" later Friday night. On Sunday mia_mcdavid and I had a good time at church and did useful work there, followed by a pleasant outing with our son Tom. Irish class Monday night was interesting and inspiring.mia_mcdavid.gmcdavidWes was out, so we joined Will's class. We started with Teacht Google Gaeilge, imeacht tionscal an aistriucháin? This was a look at Google's computer tranlation service. Looking at the computer's results meant that this was definitely a "feel good" exercise :-)> We spent some time analyzing the mistakes it made.
