From Hilbert Space to Dilbert Space

Hand cut dovetails
plane, old tools, woodwork, galoot

They are hurried and rough: It has been a while when I tried this, and I forgot some of the tricks I have seen and read about. The wood is Home Despot poplar; the normal color variation of it gives some nice color contrast. These are at the back corners (the skirt of the tool tray) of the new folding workbench I have been working on. Here is what it looks like now:

I like the way it looks, but it is still not as stable as I would like in the longways direction. I will try to fix that with some diagonal braces (the rigidity of a triangle has a great attraction to me) but that will complicate the "folding" concept—That it should be transportable. Anybody else remember the "semiportable" blasters from E.E. "Doc" Smith's Lensman stories?

Worst case: I give up on easy transportability and make it a permanent feature of my workshop. Where will I put it? I am working on that.

... I notice you're NOT the guy who's asking me where I'm going to put my 47-in. Great Wheel? :-)
